My Doctors
Doctor Who? The Doctor! I have not seen many of the classic Doctors so fans please excuse my ignorance. However this show has become a staple in our house. My husband, son, and I obsess over it and will NEVER miss an episode. You will see many blogs about these guys sooo I thought I would give a break down of each regeneration in my eyes.
The ninth doctor (The first one in the line): Christopher Eccleston plays our beloved Doctor as a war torn hero who carries the guilt of a world on his shoulders. He still has his sense of humor, but behind that is a dark side to The Doctor. He has just survived the Time War where he was responsible not only for the death of his friends and family, but the death of his SPECIES. He did what he had to in order to stop that never ending war and he is scared, torn, and broken.
The tenth doctor (The middle doctor): Played by the talented David Tennant. He is the
"middle brother". He still carries so much of the guilt like nine did, but he has decided if he has to live then so be it. He has more of a sense of humor, and appreciation for the world around him. He never misses the chance to show off, and sometimes he has trouble knowing when to stop himself. He forgets that he is not a God and has no right to play with time. He needs a companion to help him heal AND to help keep him in line.
The Eleventh Doctor: Played by the DORKY Matthew Smith. While he still carries some of his scars and guilt, this doctor is like your kid brother. He is awkward and silly. He likes to laugh and joke and make fun. He enjoys adventure but he tends to know the rules and knows rules are meant to be broken. He has a VERY dark side however he tends to not let it show through to often. He loves a challenge and anything that makes him think. He lives by one rule: The doctor lies. He has many secrets that he chooses not to share with his companions.
"She Will Be Loved" --Maroon 5
"She Will Be Loved"
Beauty queen of only eighteen
She had some trouble with herself
He was always there to help her
She always belonged to someone else
I drove for miles and miles and wound up at your door
I've had you so many times but somehow I want more
I don't mind spending every day
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
Tap on my window, knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful
I know I tend to get so insecure
It doesn't matter anymore
It's not always rainbows and butterflies
It's compromise that moves us along, yeah
My heart is full and my door's always open
You come anytime you want, yeah.
I don't mind spending every day
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
I know where you hide alone in your car
Know all of the things that make you who you are
I know that goodbye means nothing at all
Comes back and begs me to catch her every time she falls
Yeah
Tap on my window knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful
I don't mind spending every day
Out on your corner in the pouring rain, oh.
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
Please don't try so hard to say goodbye
Please don't try so hard to say goodbye
Yeah, yeah.
I don't mind spending every day
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Please don't try so hard to say goodbye
For as long as time music has been open to interpretation. This song is so much more to me than a song about a guy cheating on his girlfriend with her mother. That's what so many people out there hear when they hear the song, because of the music video. They fail to see number one that the eyes of the girl are the same in the end as his girlfriend. They fail to hear the LOVE and ACCEPTANCE in the song. This is a song that has followed me through life since it hit the charts. I was in a not so happy relationship and it reminded me that I was more than he was giving me credit for and deserved to be treated better. It reminds me that no matter what someone out there will love me, and accept me for me. That I will always have someone somewhere to turn to in my darkest of times. It lifts me up and reminds me that not only myself, but all women everywhere are beautiful even when we are broken. This is just a good strong song for me personally. Not everyone is going to see it that way and that's ok. Just because it's such a personal song for me doesn't mean it has to be for everyone right? She will be loved has seen me through my worst times, and my best. My husband will play it to pick me up. He knows that he is my guy waiting in the pouring rain. He knows he's the one who picked me up and fixed my broken smile. He knows that he is everything to me, and he knows that this song reflects me as a person. My favorite part of the song is something you can apply to everyday life. "It's not always rainbows and butterflies It's compromise that moves us along, yeah" So much about life is compromise. A lot of people assume it's all going to be rainbows and butterflies. Life is a beautiful mess don't get me wrong. It is amazing because it's an unwritten story that you make what you want of. But it's also compromise and dirty. It's the grittiness of the work that brings you such great successes. It's about the failures you have that make you a stronger person and who you are. Close your eyes and hear the song rather than judge it on what your eyes see. They cloud your heart.
