Hey Puddin'!

It's no secret to my friends and family that I am and always will be a TATTOO FREAK and A COMIC GEEK.  I have identified with Harley Quinn since her debut on the animated series and probably always will no matter how they spin her. I know that many people see her as The Joker's ditzy girlfriend. They fail to remember that Harley was once Harleen Quinzel, a very successful psychiatrist. Really she just needed to break away and be her. She puts on a crazy act to break away from her constricting conforming life.. She just wants to be HER and she doesn't want anyone to want more than that from her.  I know it's hard to see but she really is smarter than Joker gives her credit for. She is a mastermind in her own right.  She puts up with the way Joker treats her because he expects nothing more from her than to just be her. He underestimates her intelligence and she puts on a stupid front because if he knew how truly smart she actually is he may expect more than who SHE is.  I know Harley seems like a true psychopath but we see in many of the comics she is just trying to find her place in the world. When you read Gotham City Sirens you'll see that a little. She would do anything for Mistah J because he is the first person to see Harley as a person and not expect more than she wants to give.  Yes he's a terrible person and terrible to her and she knows that. She accepts him for him and loves him unconditionally and who can fault her for that?  She should and does break away from Mistah J quite often because of the person he is but in the end she has come to accept him for who he is, and how he is.  She expects no more from him but to be him.  I am by no means saying that staying in a dysfunctional abusive relationship is ok.. anyone who finds there self in one should find the strength to hit the road. I am saying I identify with Harley's need to be HERSELF and to be ACCEPTED FOR HER. I also identify with that unconditional acceptance and love she has in the end for Mistah J.  The next time you discount her as a ditzy side kick.. take a closer look at her character.. You might see yourself in her more than you realize..

And now a couple Harley pics you might like:
